Apple Music teams up with American Airlines for free in-flight music

Apple Music is flying in many more ways. Apple Music has announced its partnership with commercial carrier American Airlines to improve the experience of the users of its music app while flying. The American Airlines aircraft, equipped with ViaSat satellite Wi-Fi, shall provide exclusive access to the Apple Music subscribers to use complimentary Wi-Fi, for free. Now you can listen to the singers of your choice and avoid the weird airborne noises on your next flight. Apple Music users can stream songs as well as listen to their library offline. American Airlines is the first commercial Airline Company to have such a partnership where it is providing exclusive access to a music App through its complimentary Wi-Fi.

In a press statement Oliver Schusser, the Vice President of Apple Music said that for the majority of flyers listening to their favorite music while flying is as vital as packing their luggage. He further noted that the team is excited as now due to our partnership with American Airlines, our customers can enjoy the music of their choice in more places than before.

Apple devices like iPhone, iPads, Macs equipped with the Apple Music platform along with Android users who have the subscription to Apple Music can avail this service. Apple is bringing on board a free three-month trial offer for those who wish to subscribe, all they need to do is sign up with the app.

The partnership between Apple Music and American Airlines comes within a few months after the integration of Apple Music with Amazon Echo. In addition, the giant internet provider Verizon has also announced that the company plans to include Apple Music subscription in few of its highest data plans in the U.S. Apple is aggressively exploring new ventures to expand its user base of Apple Music. Also, depending on the results Apple Music shall team up with more commercial Airline companies in coming months.

CEO Tim Cook recently told the press that owing to the success of Apple Music; iTunes has earned the highest quarterly revenue. He also informed that Amazon Music is getting stronger by day with over 50 million subscribers worldwide. The contribution of Apple Music app helped Apple’s service revenue in reaching 10.9 billion dollars. It is 19 percent higher than the previous year’s December revenue. Apple has been trying to persuade the investures to look beyond its iPhone sales and focus on its peripheral products and growing services. The launch of Apple wristwatch series 4 in collaboration with Aetna and the growing user base of Apple Music are the examples of its narrative.
